The Lodge
The people of AmaKhosi are as much part of the experience as the exquisite surroundings. The local Zulu community is an important anchor for AmaKhosi and its staff members as it has provided the inspiration behind the design and dÈcor of the lodge.
In keeping with the tradition, the staff members, who are mostly Zulu, have helped build a traditional Zulu Kraal as part of the lodge and, in keeping with the African style, offer Zulu dancers as entertainment to guests.
Activities
Early morning and late afternoon guided walks and game drives lead you into the African bush to observe the animals and their fascinating behaviour.
The abundance of flora and fauna always reveal something interesting, both on the ground and in the air. Qualified game rangers introduce the unique role each animal plays on the massive stage within the African Kingdom.
For those who prefer to relax at camp, there is a library, swimming pool, game viewing deck and an outdoor lounge overlooking the flowing Mkuze River.
The River Suites
At the heart of AmaKhosi Lodge is the most luxurious blend of river frontage. Riverbanks are home to the main lodge with the magnificent regal River Suites offering special views of the flowing Mkuze River.
Each suite boasts separate air-conditioned bedroom and lounge with fully stocked mini bar and tea/coffee facilities. Guests can slip into an African dreamland with high thatched ceilings and glass walls reaching for the open African sky. The en-suite bathroom with a unique bath made for two is decorated with an array of candles and bath salts allowing decadence to take on a whole new meaning and bringing tranquillity and serenity to your beautiful suite ... fit for a king.
