Isandlwana Lodge and Activites on Zululand Reservations

Our preferred overnight accommodation destination in the heart of Zululand. This very comfortable Lodge is ideally situated between the Hluhluwe Imfolozi Park and the Ukhahlamba Drakensberg World Heritage Site. A magnificent view of rural Zululand, hardly changed since the Battle of Isandlwana and overlooking the imposing "Hill that looks like a little house - Isandlwana" It was in the lee of this hill that the greatest Victory over the British by the Zulu Army was achieved.

The battle of Isandlwana is regarded as one of the most significant fought on South African soil. In January 1879, some 25,000 Zulu worriors over-whelmed the British encampment, killing around 1352 of the 1500 soldiers. Resident historian will interpret this story and that of the defence of Rorke's Drift to guests.
