THE NGALA LODGE has
a quality seldom found in the African bush - of unashamed luxury,
beauty and sophistication.
Breakfast and lunch
are served in the wonderfully spacious central lounge and dining
facility where cool green slate floors combine with high thatch.
Soft chairs, precious rugs and artifacts collected from many parts
of Africa, give an authentic “old Africa” feel to Ngala's lounge
and bar area which has a huge open fireplace for winter evenings.

After a day of excitement
this is a place in which to relax, to rem reminisce on the events
of the day and to listen to myths and talesof the wild told by the
Ngala rangers. Within the camp, a variety of indigenous trees hang
with orchids, while flowering shrubs such as impala lilies decorate
the banks of the swimming pool.

Water from the pool
cascades over natural rock into a waterhole where Africa’s big game
- including herds of elephant - frequently come down to drink on
the sundeck right at the water’s edge, you may choose to relax in
total comfort - a perfect place from which to watch the camp's prolific
bird life.

Dinner is served in
the romantic candle-lit courtyard - a unique dush setting under
the stars and a lacy canopy formed by indigenous trees. Table appointments
of silver, crystal and Villeroy & Boch set a high standard matched
by the cuisine. You may select from a superb table d’hote menu prepared
by our cordon bleu chef.

The new lodge has 20
luxurious bush chalets complete with en-suite bathrooms, with bath
and shower facilities. The chalets are attention to detail - in
keeping with the “old Africa” theme. Each has its own charm with
carefully selected artifacts, antique furniture and-wispy mosquito
nets.
