An opportunity to visit a most beautiful game reserve in northern KwaZulu-Natal that offers a wide diversity of both highveld and lowveld animal species. You could see both black and white rhino, elephant, leopard, warthog, giraffe, eland, red hartebeest, tsessebe, oribi, impala, kudu, mountain and common reedbuck, klipspringer, blackbacked and sidestriped jackal, along with numerous other species. Rock hyrax (dassies) abound in the camp area at Itala. 
Even the birdlife and birding is excellent. Ostrich, black eagle and secretary birds frequently seen.
Ntshondwe Camp - Accommodation is situated in the most picturesque setting. Wonderful restaurant and swimming pool. An excellent area for game walks and the night safari drives in open 4X4 safari vehicles very interesting with a good chance of seeing the rare aardwolf. Lunches from the excellent Take-away Restaurant allow flexibility and extended game drives.

We do not offer day tours to Itala from Durban or Johannesburg as the direct travelling time is approximately 4,5 and 5 hours respectively. A two night visit is ideal to explore this most intersting game park where the general game viewing is outstanding. This primarily due to the mid-altitude grasslands being open making the viewing of the  abundant antelope relatively easy to find.

All accommodation rates quoted are inclusive of gate entry fee, community levy and emergency rescue levy. Therefore only day visitors will pay a gate entry fee.
