Day 1 - West Coast National Park (D)
Today we explore the West Coast National Park and the Langebaan Lagoon. Incorporating an astounding number of sea birds, waders, seed and insect eaters and raptors, the West Coast National Park is a bird watchers paradise. Game and wild flowers (August to beginning of October) make this park and the lagoon a must for all nature lovers. Just inland from the secluded harbour of Saldanha Bay one finds the azure waters of the Langebaan Lagoon, focal point of the West Coast National Park. Thousands of seabirds roost on sheltered islands, pristine golden beaches stretch endlessly into the early morning mist and brooding salt marshes are home to vast concentrations of migrant waders from the northern hemisphere. During the spring the strandveld is embroidered with a tapestry of multi-hued flowers, while in the Postberg section many antelope are to be seen in a setting that is as unique as it is idyllic.
Overnight at the Pasternoster Lodge (or similar). The picturesque fishing village of Paternoster is internationally known for its abundance of Cape Lobster (crayfish) and other delicious sea produce. It's unique West Coast character, tranquillity, security and natural beauty has become a favourite and regular destination for many a tourist, national and international.The Paternoster Lodge, built in typical West Coast style, is situated in the centre of the Village and have magnificent 180 degree views of the Atlantic Ocean and a 10 kilometers stretch of clean white beach, only 3 minutes walk away.

Day 2 – West Coast (Breakfast)
Today will be spent in exploring this diverse area The West Coast has many faces, moods like the weather... but somewhere everyday the sun is shining. Somewhere on the West Coast - you will find something for the whole family. Quietness, serenity, luxury & style! Fun in the sun with watersports, fishing, yachting, boat charters, diving, horse riding - whatever takes your fancy.

Day 3 - Bushmanskloof (Breakfast, Dinner)
After breakfast we go in search of spring flowers (in season) en route to Clanwilliam and the Bushmanskloof Game Reserve where we overnight. Under watchful African skies, rugged and yet graceful, a land once the very cradle of humankind has been rediscovered and brought to life . . . Bushmans Kloof, the heartbeat of an African wilderness . . . the rebirth of a long forgotten land. Immense open plains, deep ravines, spectacular waterfalls and prehistoric rock formations characterise this ecological oasis, nestled between the majestic mountains of the Cederberg and the vast plains of the Great Karoo. 270 Kilometres north of Cape Town, unique and unspoilt, this once hunting ground of the intrepid San, is home to an incredible variety of wildlife and plant species, and is a premier spring flower destination. A South African National Heritage Site, it offers the world's largest open-air art gallery with more then 125 pristine rock art paintings some dating back 10000 years. The reserve is home to 34 species of mammals, 140 bird species and 755 plant species. Guests enjoy daily sunset game drives and early morning art, geological and botanical walks. Other activities include swimming in crystal clear natural rock pools and fly-fishing. The Homestead has a central lounge area with fireplace, library, dining room, bar, and covered veranda. Day 4- Bushmanskloof (B, L, D)
Today we are follow the programme of the lodge, which includes game drives, walks, viewing San rock art and more.

Day 5 - Tulbagh (Breakfast)
Today we travel in search of more wildflowers before entering the wheat lands of the Swartland, the winter breadbasket of South Africa, to the historical town of Tulbagh where we relax for the remainder of the afternoon. Tulbagh is famed for its beautiful Cape Dutch Architecture and good wines. Here we overnight at Rijk's Country House (or similar), Cape Dutch homestead. This is a wineland getaway of charm and tranquillity. On the outskirts of the historic and picturesque Tulbagh village, the gracious and welcoming country house is set on a ridge overlooking a lake. Individually decorated spacious bedrooms and three self-contained de luxe cottages each have a private terrace leading to the poolside garden. Views span the impressive Witzenberg and Winterhoek Mountains surrounding the estate.

Day 6 - Montagu (Breakfast, Dinner)
Today we travel to Montagu, famous for its quaint white washed village and hot spring. This peaceful town is steeped in history and is famous for its awe-inspiring rock formations, orchards, vineyards, local herbs and healing hot mineral springs. We overnight at the Avalon Springs Hotel. Here we visit the 43ºC hot thermal and mildly radioactive spring on the property. World famous for its curative properties especially for skin ailments, arthritis, rheumatism and general aches and pains, "miracle" cures have been documented since the early 1800s. Bursting from a fissure in the rock face, in a cavern some 5 meters underground, these waters have healing powers that have yet to be fully understood. The water comes to the surface at a constant 43ºC and by virtue of the fact that the rate of flow is unaffected, even by the worst droughts that the area has experienced, it is obviously coming from very deep down, with an estimated depth of the source at about 3kms. By virtue of the fact that the water is 100% clear & clean with a near perfect Ph when it reaches the surface, it contains a number of minerals, chemicals and other trace elements, as well as being mildly radio active, it is obviously undergoing natural filtration and picks up properties of the various rock strata that it is being forced through.
This "natural perfection" allows Avalon Springs to pump the water directly into the various available pools and spa baths without treating, or in any way changing it, and as such visitors are able to enjoy these waters in their most natural form. For hygiene reasons the water is of course chlorinated, but by virtue of the fact that the water is not recycled and is continuously drained off into the river that flows past the property, you are always enjoying a natural wonder at it’s finest.

Day 7 – Hermanus (Breakfast)
This morning after another visit to the hot springs we make our way to Hermanus, which lies along the shores of Walker Bay near the Southern most tip of Africa. The magnificent mountains of the Overberg tower over the town - home of the Southern Right Whale and others. Whale enthusiasts and nature lovers from all over the world visit Hermanus to enjoy these magnificent creatures playing and frolicking from the best land based whale watching destination in the world. Hermanus is known as the heart of the whale route. The popular cliff path stretches from the one side of the town to the other, about 12 km. long. This is an excellent walk and place for whale watchers to study and enjoy these amazing gigantic mammals and get within closer range than you can dream of.
 Telescopes are situated alongside the Old Harbour Museum that makes it possible to survey the entire Walker Bay and the whales and dolphins at close range. The Whale Crier keeps visitors informed as to the whereabouts of the whales. The sound of his kelp horn has become a well-loved and awaited sound during the whale season.
Overnight The Windsor Hotel. The Windsor Hotel is situated on a cliff edge with spectacular panoramic views of the Indian Ocean below, visible from almost all its rooms. This Hermanus hotel is perfect for a relaxing seaside holiday break, and the frolicking whales in the Indian Ocean will add to your enjoyment!

Day 8 – Hermanus (Breakfast)
We enjoy the full day of what is on offer in this magnificent area.

Day 9 – Cape Town (Breakfast)
After some more whale watching this morning we make our way to Cape Town via the coastal route, stopping at Betty’s Bay to view the antics of the African penguin before we drop you off at your overnight accommodation or at the airport.
